The launch of the North Kerry Collection took place at the Seanchaí Literary Centre, Listowel on December 18th, 2005 and was performed by hisorian Padaigh O'Conncubhair and Jimmy Deenihan T.D.

The Collection comprises of 45 recordings compiled by Maurice O'Keeffe in the North Kerry area between 2004 and 2005, in conversation with local historians, folklorists and storytellers, from Ballybunion to Athea and from Ballylongford to Tralee.
