Track 1: His background in the townland of Cormelia, near the Blueball, County Offaly. Discussed the meeting and marriage of his parents in New York. His mother was widowed as a young woman, and difficult circumstances compelled her to send James to Ireland for a short time to her sister, Bridget Keegan and her husband. At the age of four, he returned to his mother, and lived at 41st Street, Queens, New York. Track 2: His education in Queens. His first job as a newspaper boy at the age of nine, and his continuing education. Track 3: His graduation in Law and becoming a barrister. Visiting Ireland in 1969, and witnessing the outbreak of the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Track 4: His draft to the United States Army, where he was attached to the Law section. His military experience and assignments, and his rise through the ranks to the post of Brigadier General and Chief Justice Advocate for the army. His views on the Vietnam War, and how Americans perceived it at this time.

Track 5: His role in negotiations to promote peace in Northern Ireland, including discussions with Paul O'Dwyer. Track 1: His background in Moore Street, Tullamore. Both parents originally from farming backgrounds in Co. Wexford. Discussed his father's IRA activities during the 1916-1922 period. His education and leaving school early to work as a messenger boy in Tullamore. Track 2: His noted career in GAA football, starting as a juvenile with St Brigid's Club and playing at centre half-back, and later as goalkeeper. Lined out as a minor and a senior for Co. Offaly, and played his part in the winning All-Ireland Championship teams in 1971, 1972 and 1982. His two brothers, who also played for the county, and Fr Gilhooley, the team trainer. Track 3: His career as a salesman with Donnelly's Sausages, and then working in Tullamore with businessman, Jackie Finlay, who owned The Harp, the first ballroom in Tullamore. He subsequently spent eighteen years as a rent collector in the Tullamore area. In 1988, at the age of forty one, he emigrated with his family to the Bronx in New York, where he worked as a barman. He then moved into the construction business there.

Track 2: As part of his formation, going in 1955 as a missionary to what was then Rhodesia, under British rule, and teaching mathematics in Canisius School in Chikuni province. Track 3: His views of Rhodesia under British rule, and the time of its emerging independence, which was declared on October 24 1964. Track 4: Memories of his ordination as a Jesuit priest in 1964 and becoming Principal of Canisius School in Chikuni. Described Independence Day in Zambia. Track 5: Undertook doctoral studies in Birmingham, UK, in 1970. Achieving Zambian citizenship. His involvement in establishing centres for education, veterinary science and agriculture in Lusaka. Elected Dean of Education at the University of Zambia and, subsequently, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Education. Track 6: His involvement in planning for health education in the context of the HIV pandemic in Zambia. Track 7: Memories of his three late brothers: Paddy, who married and lived in Drogheda, and Fr Bob and Fr Joe, both Jesuit priests, who served in Zambia and Manhattan respectively.

Track 1: Traced her family line back to her great-great-grandparents. Her great-great-grandfather, Denis Ganley, left Tubberclare in Co. Westmeath, and her great-great grandmother, Mary Murray, left Kilkenny in 1868. They met on the boat to Argentina and subsequently married. The reasons for this choice of location, where Denis was sheep herding and Mary was teaching. Described the strong cultural links to Irish music, language and dance which prevail in Buenos Aires to this day. Track 2: A newspaper of the time, The Southern Cross, part of which was published in the Irish language. Recalled returning to Ireland to research her family roots and investigate her ancestors' home places.

Track 1: Her father's military service in Crinkle Barracks, Roscrea Road, Birr. Childhood memories, including witnessing the burning of the Barracks by the IRA during the Troubles in 1922. Her father's discharge from the army and gaining employment with the Royal Agricultural Society in the Birr area. Track 2: Her education and later employment for nine years in Woodlands Nurseries. The social life at this time, the dances attended and the bands that played. Memories of her late husband, who worked in C.I.E., and their early married life, spending one year in Limerick and then settling in Birr. Track 3: The challenge of becoming visually impaired in later life. Her father's stories of his service with the British Army in India before the outbreak of World War I. Her father was one of six siblings to serve in this war: five brothers joined the same regiment, two of them were killed in action, and one sister served with the Red Cross.

Traced her family history back to her great-grandfather, Patrick Evans, who migrated with his family in 1928 from Keel, County Kerry, to Edenderry, accompanied by his brother, Bob and family (Bob Evans is recorded in the Irish Life and Lore Offaly Collection, 2nd series). This was part of the Land Commission initiative to re-distribute land elsewhere to farmers. Discussed subsequent generations of the Evans family line, including the Cronins of Castlemaine, Co. Kerry.
