Clare County Library at Ennis:
“Clare County Library has purchased the complete set of ‘Irish Life and Lore‘. The material from County Clare covers topics such as Fair day in Miltownmalbay, Knock village in its heyday as a busy port, the life and times of Eugene O’Curry and the archaeology of Dysert O’Dea. These recordings have been broadcast on local radio stations including Clare FM and Kerry Radio.
The Clare FM programmes, called ‘Clare Lore‘, proved to be a tremendous success with listeners. Maurice O’Keeffe has now made available 120 hours of his recordings covering conversations with historians, archaeologists, musicians and storytellers from counties Clare, Kerry and Limerick. The recordings – called ‘Irish Life and Lore’ – are on CD and are accompanied by a printed catalogue which gives details of participants.”
