In this second recording with Cissy Herward, she describes in detail the interior of the Craig Waller house, owners of the Allenstown estate. She remembers by name all the staff in the house and she discusses her father’s twelve siblings, and names them and their occupations. The seasons, the customs, beliefs and traditions of each season are recounted. Local folk cures and their distribution are discussed, as is the work for each specific day in her home, and the use and recycling of everything, resulting in little or no waste. The Land Commission and the division of the large local estate and the resultant small holdings are also discussed in this recording.
