Michael Whelan has been a serving member of the Irish Defence Forces for 16 years, and served with the UN Peacekeeping Forces in South Lebanon and Kosovo. He now works at Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel, where he looks after the Air Corps Museum and Heritage Project. He has taken a great interest in Irish military history, and has published articles on the subject. In this interview, he talks about his experiences overseas, while serving with the Irish Army.
