John Butler spent all his life in Clontarf Estate. His wife, Eileen, grew up in Moate, Co Westmeath. John worked with the Williams Group and he and Eileen married in 1947. She had worked as parlour maid with the Williams family. The recording recalls life before the advent of electricity, radio and television.
