Ann Reilly and her late husband Seamus Reilly ran an architectural fittings business at Academy Street, Navan. Ann grew up in Navan and, following her schooling, she began her career at John Hogg and Co. and was there at the transition to Crannac Furniture. She describes the workplace and the staff, the work practices and the management. Following her marriage, she helped her husband run his architectural fittings business. Ann gives an excellent account of a number of changes Navan has experienced. She remembers the old shops and shopkeepers, the advent of supermarkets in the 1980s, and she has fond memories of the original library on Church Hill the town to which she was a frequent visitor.
