Austin Gorgan was born into a large family in Ringsend and he recalls his father’s service in World War 1. Austin always had an ambition to succeed in life and he joined the Irish Civil Service Building Society in 1960, where he remained for 41 years. He recalls the many clubs in which he was involved, the Golf Club, the Gentlemen’s Club, the Freemasons and the United Services Club. He has lived in Portmarnock since 1973.
