Billa O’Connell begins this entertaining recording with his description of the audience during a performance and he describes the messenger boys who would be seen frequently in the city in earlier days. He speaks of one of his admirers, former Taoiseach the late Jack Lynch, and the strong friendship which they enjoyed. He lovingly describes the characters in the Coal Quay, where he would make deliveries while working with Thompsons.
