Eddie grew up in a merchant family in the town of Tralee. He later joined Easons, the booksellers, and became chairperson of that company. In retirement he had many fascinating experiences, such as living on a yacht on the Mediterranean for some years. Sailing became a passion in his life. In the second part of the recording, Eddie Kelliher discusses the Troubles in Tralee, and his retirement in Dun Laoghaire. A family history was compiled by Eddie Kelliher over recent years. This recording takes us right back to prehistoric times, and the arrival of the invading tribes in Ireland.

The recording continues with an account of the Kelliher family history down through the ages, from the earliest times to the present day. In the last part of the recording, Eddie brings the Kelliher family history into the twentieth century.
