Track 1; Elizabeth McCarthy is a native of Cloyne in East Cork, and she explains that she began her career at the Falls Hotel in Ennistymon, Co. Clare, in 1947. She recalls her varied responsibilities at this time and the clientele of the hotel. Track 2: She arrived in Killarney to work at the Great Southern Hotel in 1950, having spent two seasons working at the Towers Hotel in Glenbeigh. She recalls her colleagues in Killarney, their leisure activities and her duties at the hotel. Track 3: She remembers the season she spent working at the Great Southern Hotel in Kenmare, and her meeting with Lady Grosvenor who asked her to take up employment at the new Castlerosse Hotel which opened in 1960. She recalls her time there and names her colleagues in the workplace. Track 4: Her memories of visiting Kenmare House in Killarney during the ownership of Stuart Robinson are described, as are her memories of Lady Grosvenor, her newly-built residence and the demesne. The gate-lodge keeper, Con Casey, is also recalled as also is the arrival of coach tours to Killarney. Track 5: Looking through old photographs, she points out individual colleagues from the Great Southern Hotel in Killarney in former days, and she discusses their uniforms and the socials held there at Christmas time and on other occasions.
