Grace Cox recalls her background, growing up in Dundrum, getting her first job in the General Office of Jacobs, and later moving to work with the new tabulator. She discusses the punch machines, the sorters and the tabulator, and busy times working with large volumes of invoices. She remembers the excellent facilities provided by her employers, including the swimming pool which she often used, and the dances held at the recreation hall. Here she met Alan Cox, her future husband. Grace has fond memories of an employees’ outing to the Isle of Man, which was organised by the firm.
