The Connolly farm at Piercetown, Dunboyne was the setting for The Riordans television series in the 1970s and 1980s. Michael Connolly recalls his introduction to RTE in 1965, working as a technician, with the Outside Broadcasting Unit, which travelled around the countryside, working on such programmes as Quicksilver, The School Around the Corner, and The Sunday Game. Lou Connolly discusses her employment in the Bush factory in Dublin, assembling television sets. They recall the characters, the actors (particularly Tom Cowley, a native of Ardbraccan) and crew who worked on the set of The Riordans, and the huge disappointment which was widely felt at the sudden axing of the series.
