Very well-known and respected for his knowledge of traditional Irish dancing, Ollie has been acclaimed as All Ireland Champion traditional dancer six times in a row. His floor battering skills are also fondly remembered. He spent many years behind a bar in Quilty Cross, Co. Clare, when his sean nós singing and storytelling were justly appreciated by a wide variety of visitors and Clare people alike. I feel that Ollie searches deep into the heart of his native heritage in this fascinating recording.
