Paddy Weston spent his childhood in Portrane and his parents’ involvement in the War of Independence is recalled here. Paddy joined the British Navy as a radio officer and later spent some time in the Merchant Navy. On his discharge, he opened a radio and television retailing business in Swords. He has an abiding interest in local history and recalls many interesting local historical events down the years. For the past 37 years he has lived in one of Lusk’s oldest houses.
