UCC Professor John Sheehan toured Beginish Island, recalling the Viking period on this magical South Kerry place. In the parish of Kells is an ancient place where layers of civilisation have been laid down. In the final days of excavation work carried out by Professor John Sheehan and his students from University College Cork, a recording was made on location describing an ancient shrine, a childrens’ burial ground and a Neolithic dwelling.
