The voices within council chambers of the Tralee Town Council have been preserved for posterity as part of a major oral history project – Reflections on the Urban District of Tralee Collection – which marks a nostalgic final note for the council, which was dissolved in April 2014.

‘Reflections on the Urban District of Tralee’, contains 19 recordings including current and past members of the council such as Ted Fitzgerald, Cathal Foley, Norma Foley and Terry O’Brien. The Tralee edition also includes the words of local businessmen Alfie Boyle, Michael Latchford and Billy Nolan as well as Dr Henry Lyons of IT Tralee.
