Desmond English, b. 1937

Track 1: Background in Corofin Co. Clare and his early education. Joined the Irish Army in 1956, retiring as Captain. Studied at night at University College Dublin for a BComm degree, and followed this with a qualification in Accountancy. Track 2: His post in Trinity College Dublin in 1969 as an assistant accountant. Memories of the summer of that year, when the Northern Ireland Troubles began and he was drafted back into the army to assist in Border duties for a short time.
