Tom and I went on a journey along a track across the bog stretching as far as Clonmacnoise. This track formed part of the ancient trackways of Ireland and during the journey Tom pointed out many derelict homes and spoke about the families who had lived in them. These homes included a sod wall house and many thatched cabins. He also related the stories of two murders which took place in the 1890`s which related to land disputes.
