In the comfort of her own home, Charlotte Hendrick recalls the untimely death of her mother when Charlotte was just four years old, and a subsequent challenging upbringing by her aunt. At the age of 16 she won a Gold medal for singing at Feis Charman in 1931. She speaks very admiringly of her music teacher Nicky Hore. Her father worked with her grandfather, who was a master mariner and many memories associated with her father’s life at sea are recorded. Other memories recalled include her time on the local camogie team, the Light Opera Society and the great characters she met through her involvement.
