Joan Doyle grew up two miles outside Wexford and her maiden name was Corcoran. This recording details her memories of her parents attending the Hunt Ball in the Town Hall in Wexford, her successful years playing hockey at international level, which began with her membership of the Wexford Hockey Club, her happy memories of the early days of the Opera Festival, serving teas to the audience, and backstage to the performers and volunteers. Her enthusiasm and love for the opera may clearly be heard. She recalls the fun of the fancy dress balls, which traditionally took place on the 6th January each year.
