Con is one of Ireland’s most distinguished writers and journalists. For decades he has captivated his readers with a unique view on life. The memories of a master storyteller, spanning more than sixty years. Con starts work at 4.00 a.m., so to interview him I had to make an early appointment in one of the oldest parts of Dublin city. Con spoke about his childhood in Castleisland, Co Kerry, his travels, sports and spiritual beliefs. Surrounded by a wonderful collection of art in his home, I interviewed him. It was a memorable experience and one which I’ll never forget.
