Danny Bell was reared in the Strawberry Beds and he describes the involvement of the local population in the cultivation of the fruit gardens. He qualified as an engineer and began work in Finglas at an experimental base run by Phillips. His work included instrument making and engineering design. The company sent him to Eindhoven in Holland, to continue his work there. His change of career is discussed as he began work as a consultant for the World Bank in developing countries. He enjoys his great involvement with the local community in his retirement.
