Jenny McCarthy worked as a postmistress beside Ballymullen Barracks, Tralee, Co Kerry. She recalls life as a postmistress and her many encounters with the British Army and the Black and Tans, and later the Free Staters. Her memories are very vivid and of great value to historians.
