Maurice O’Neill’s ancestors were evicted from the Clonegal area. They settled in Ballykealy in the early 1800s and built a mud-walled cabin, the house in which Maurice himself was born. The discussion centres around local lore, and the rivalry between the rural and the urban people. Also included in this recording is a discussion on the Land Acts of the nineteenth century.
