Michael Ward explains that his father, Joe Ward, divided the family lands between Michael and his two brothers. He discusses his own farm and its buildings, the cattle sheds which house up to 600 cattle. The old herdsman’s cottage in the yard which was originally thatched is visited. Land reclamation on the farm at Kilcloone, much of it undertaken by his grandfather, is discussed. Michael’s two sons, who work with their father on the land, are introduced, and they speak about the ever-changing traditions in farming in Ireland.
