Ollie Connor grew up in Crohan, on a small farm. During the 1950s he emigrated to England, as did many of the other young men from that area. He speaks about his years working up and down the length of Britain, on roads and building sites. He spent time with McAlpine’s, a large employer of Irish emigrants. This recording recounts some stories relating to the young people in care in the reformatory in Daingean.
