Richard Liffey was a man of vision, courage, ability and energy, with a gift to lead and inspire other people. Richard founded Liffey Mills in 1982, when he purchased the monastery corn mill at Bunnow, Roscrea. He contributed enormously to Shinrone Parish fundraising activities. He was to the fore in running carnivals, the purchase of a hurling and soccer pitch, raising funds for and planning a new Community Centre, and many other Parish building and renovation projects.
