This recording was made in Kilmainham Jail on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the execution of the leaders of the 1916 Rising. A group of very dedicated voluntary workers had succeeded in restoring this most historical building to its former condition. Much of the credit for this great work must go to Seamus Bruce who oversaw the restoration of the East Wing and was also responsible for the recruitment of the voluntary workers when the work began in May 1960.
