The above photograph shows three generations of the Doyle family who were Sean Byrne’s mother’s family – her grandfather, father and brother are pictured. In this recording Sean talks about village pastimes such as card-playing, pitch and toss and attending performances of the travelling theatres. He recalled the local big estates, their owners and the rise of nationalism in the area after World War 1.
