Sheila Horan (née Healy (b. 1922)

Track 1: Growing up in Ardfert, her background and her schooldays. Track 2: Moving to Moyderwell in Tralee and meeting her future husband Paddy Horan, a cattle and pig dealer. Recalling fair days in Listowel and Tralee. Track 3: Her involvement in bringing the first nursing home to Tralee (Fatima Home), founder member of the Soroptomists and the other founder members. Track 4: The marking of 19th century historian Mary Agnes Hickson’s grave. Track 5: Her time on the Rose of Tralee Festival Committee, and recalling anecdotal stories. Track 6: She recalls the Carnival and the Carnival Queen which predated the Rose of Tralee.
