A fascinating story, told by Sr Paschal (born in 1909) who grew up in a village in North Kerry and joined the Mercy Sisters. The story of the poorhouse, afterwards the County Home and now the County Council offices in Tralee is told. St Paschal became Sister in charge of the orphanage in Tralee in the 1940s. She recalls the strict regime, and stories relating to the place. Sr Paschal concludes with a comprehensive narrative about the Catherine MacAuley Orphanage.
