Ted Howlin is a former Council Chairman. He grew up in Wexford town, and worked in Teagasc, carrying out agricultural research. He detailed the great passion in his life which involved working for the Opera Festival. He manned the box office from 1973, and describes the people involved as being “like a big family”. He speaks about the logistics of organising all the events of the Festival and declares that the local people are the best critics of the performances. He also discusses the various visitors who arrived for the Festival year after year.
