Peggy Shiggins provides a great account of life as a young child growing up in the 1930s in central Dublin. She mentions the games they played, the characters, the traders in Moore Street, and the Theatre Royal, which she and her friends frequented. She describes the extraordinary friendships which developed out of those earlier days, where they had freedom to wander and play, even though they had little money.
