Trevor West, b. 1938

Track 1: His background in Midleton, Co. Cork, early education and entry to Trinity College Dublin, becoming a Scholar and studying Mathematics. His postgraduate work in England, Scotland and the USA. Track 2: A post in Trinity College Dublin, his involvement in sport in Trinity both as a student and academic. Undertaking responsibility for many sporting and training programmes at Trinity. Track 3: His election to Seanad Éireann through Trinity, a position he held for twelve yearTrack 4: Memories of his days as a lecturer in the Mathematics Department, his friendship with Professor John Luce of the Philosophy Department, who also had an illustrious sporting career. A sad memory of a student from Northern Ireland, a very talented sportsman, who was shot in Belfast during the Troubles.
