Track 1: Background in Tullamore, Co. Offaly. Entered Trinity College Dublin in 1954 to study English and French, graduating in 1958. Track 2: Worked as an English language assistant in France for two years, then secured a post on the Library staff at Trinity in 1960; appointed to the permanent staff in 1961. Subsequently undertook a professional librarian’s qualification in London. Track 3: Involved in the configuration of the building of the Berkeley Library on campus, explaining that the Library collections had been stored in a number of locations prior to this. Track 4: Memories of taking the Library Declaration, an age-old tradition in Trinity. Discussed her role and responsibilities in charge of current periodicals and newspapers and later also of books. Track 5: The special relationship between the Libraries of Oxford and Cambridge Universities and of Trinity College Dublin, whereby each is entitled to receive a copy of all published material. Appointed as Keeper (Collection Management), with responsibility for all modern publications. Track 6: Her views on library operations; her retirement in December 2000.
