Edward Davis grew up in poor circumstances. His mother died during her tenth pregnancy, leaving five daughters and four sons. It was arranged that the five sisters would be sent to a reformatory school in Drogheda, with the four boys going to Letterfrak reformatory school in Co Mayo. At the age of 7 Edward ran away to work with the farmers. This recording recalls Edward Davis’s many harrowing experiences and some happier times throughout his life.
