Coolagurteen, on the outskirts of Listowel, Co. Kerry, is the home of Dan Keane. Dan spent his early days as an insurance salesman, cycling through the countryside and taking note of place names of which he has built a fine collection. During this interview recorded on location, Dan provided a wonderful insight into this subject. We began our tour in the village of Knockanure where Dan spoke about the Whiteboys and the local poet Paddy Drury. Other stops on the tour included the site of a local hedge school, the birth place of Thomas Moore and Kilmorna House, home of Sir Arthur Vicars who was custodian of the Irish Crown jewels.
