Track 1: Dan Kelleher discusses his connections with the Urban District Council as a representative of the OPW, which included the jaunting car industry and traffic bollards. He reiterates his memories of the history of the proposed uses for Muckross House and estate, prior to its takeover by the OPW. Lady Beatrice Grosvenor is remembered as a very active member of the local community. Track 2: The disbandment of the Urban District Council is a disappointment to Dan Kelleher, as the UDC and the OPW had always worked in harmony on projects such as the inner relief road, water from the Devil’s Punchbowl, water from Lough Guitane and the sewage system for Killarney. Track 3: The informal meetings between the OPW and the UDC, and their merits, are discussed, as is the Liaison Committee initiated by Dan Kelleher prior to his retirement.
