Don Lucey, Viatores Christi Lay Missionary Association

Track 1: Growing up in Macroom, Co. Cork, in the 1970s and 80s. In 2004 he visited Mexico as a volunteer with VSO for three months. In 2005 he joined the Viatores Christi and did six months training before being appointed to Sudan. Track 2: He describes the culture shock on arriving in Yei in Sudan. He discusses the great challenges of building of schools, with the help of the Jesuit Refugee Service. Track 3: He continued his mission work in the same area with the Danish Refugee Council. Track 4: Training the local people to continue his work. He returned to Ireland in 2009.
