Ernie Guest was born in 1906 in Cloughjordan into a family of three boys. He came to Shinrone with his father to live with his father’s three sisters. His aunt had a shop and another aunt worked the farm. He married Edith Ruttle in 1946. Ernie’s interests were in farming and in his herbal cures. He was very devout and held a senior position in the local Methodist church.
