Fr Seamus O’Connor joined the Columban Fathers, having grown up in Edenderry, where his father had a coach-building business. After ordination he was to spend the next 57 years of his life as a missionary in Fiji and Melbourne in Australia. He completed his missionary work as an advisor in an asylum in Massachusetts.
