Frank King recalls summer days in his youth, and picnics in the garden and orchard which lay at the rear of the old house in Blennerville near Tralee. The garden had been created earlier by a Captain Smyth, and the Kings maintained this magical place. Frank describes cycling trips with his father to Inch Strand, Brandon Point and Valentia Island, in pursuit of their shared passion for ornithology. He speaks of the mud-flats around Tralee Bay, and the nearby mountains and woodlands, all of which were perfect for bird-watching. He concludes by recalling happy memories of musical evenings at his old home.
