JIM KINSELLA, CLASHROE, SLIEVE BLOOM

Jim Kinsella grew up in Wexford in a farming background. Over 25 years ago he exchanged a farm there for a 300 acre sheep farm in the Slieve Bloom mountains and during this time he opened a very successful quarry business on his land. Music plays a big part in the lives of all the members of Jim’s family and Jim was always interested in collecting rare old songs, some of which he sang for me in this recording. Every song collected is one with a historical content and this was a traditional way of handing on stories about events in the past.
