Both Jimmy and Sylvia O’Connor worked in the legal profession, and lived and worked in Dublin for many years. Jimmy’s father was a founder of the Patron Members of the Dublin Grand Opera Society. Jimmy himself became President of the Gramophone Society in Wexford, and also joined the Council of the Wexford Festival in 1960. This recording focuses on both Sylvia and Jimmy’s appreciation and love of the many performances which took place in the Theatre Royal down through the 54 years. Jimmy spoke about his own participation in the Festival as a Transport Officer, and had many anecdotes to tell about the Festival down through the years.
