Joe Creedon

This recording was initially compiled at Creedon’s Hotel, Inchigeela, where Joe Creedon introduces Peggy Sweeney and other members of the Listowel Drama Group who are enjoying their visit to West Cork. Later, on location at the old graveyard in Inchigeela, Joe Creedon strolls among the headstones, and recalls the people who lie at peace at this spot, and their families. Occasionally Joe breaks into gentle song and verse which have associations with the local families and familiar places. He traces his own Creedon ancestors and recalls some of the great characters from the area around his native village.
