In this recording both Nancy and John Sherwood speak about their backgrounds. Nancy came from a farming family while John’s father worked in the Post Office. The conversation centres around the early days of the Festival. John held the position of usher from 1951-1956. Their memories of the great nightlife enjoyed during the Festival in those days are recorded. They speak about the three cinemas in the town, which competed with each other to show the best films. Also discussed was the Hunt Ball, which took place later in the year in the town of Wexford and John’s own involvement in the pharmacy business in the town since 1959.
