John Gerard Keane recalls his family origins in West Clare, and his own early days being educated in St Flannan’s and in St Patrick’s College, Maynooth. In the 1960s, his first appointment was to Newport, North Tipperary. In 1971 he moved to Kilcormac, where he spent the rest of his teaching career as principal in the local school.
