Michael Nolan grew up in George Street and he recalls his ancestors over many generations. He discusses political life in the country since the forming of the Free State, and how it affected the population of Wexford. He himself worked in bookkeeping and accounts in Dublin from 1940 to 1966, and gave a great account of dairying in the country, gained from his experiences with the Dairy Disposal Company. He always ensures that he is in Wexford for the period of the Festival Opera.
