This recording took place in Pat Stones’ council house, where he was joined by his friend Tom Fleming. Both men had interesting stories to tell about their working lives. Pat had spent a lifetime in Goodbody’s jute factory, and Tom worked as the yardboy in Kilclara House. An fascinating picture emerged of the town as it was during the Emergency period, and other topics discussed included entertainments, sports and other pastimes.
